Hit Me Hard & Soft: The Spectacular Trailer for James Cameron’s 3D Film About Billie Eilish

As production continues on Avatar 4 and Avatar 5, director and screenwriter James Cameron is taking a break from Pandora and returning to Earth to capture Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard & Soft world tour in a spectacular concert film shot with exclusive 3D cameras and produced by Paramount.

One of the most anticipated releases of the season—for fans of James Cameron, Billie Eilish, and concert films alike—titled Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard & Soft: The Tour (Live In 3D), will hit theaters next month: the iconic pop star has collaborated with director James Cameron to offer a unique glimpse into Billie Eilish’s tour, thanks to the use of 3D cameras that will treat audiences to an unforgettable experience.

As the official synopsis states, the film will be “an innovative concert experience on the big screen, created by one of the most celebrated and successful artists of her generation.” The new trailer for Hit Me Hard & Soft has just been released, and you can watch it within this article: we were all a bit surprised when it was announced that the director of Titanic and Terminator would be collaborating with Billie Eilish on a concert film, but perhaps after being immersed in the world of “Avatar” for nearly twenty years, James Cameron needed a break (or perhaps to test new 3D cameras for a live project). “Hit Me Hard & Soft” has certainly allowed him to create something authentic directly on camera, in addition to documenting Billie Eilish’s life on tour.

It’s worth noting that “Hit Me Hard & Soft” won’t be Billie Eilish’s only appearance on the big screen, as the two-time Oscar-winning singer was recently cast by screenwriter and director Sarah Polley (“Women Talking”) for the film adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s novel “The Bell Jar”: this film will mark her debut as an actress in a leading role.

As for James Cameron, the director is coming off the success of Avatar: The Way of Fire, which, however, saw a sharp drop at the box office compared to *Avatar: The Way of Water: According to the latest reports, Disney and 20th Century Studios are reportedly making certain requests for the next two sequels, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5, in the hope that they will be “shorter” and “less expensive.” Cameron, as we recall, is also working on two new original films, the biopic The Ghost of Hiroshima and the dark fantasy The Devils, as well as the screenplays for a new Terminator film and the sequels to Alita: Battle Angel.

Hit Me Hard & Soft is set to hit theaters on May 8, distributed by Paramount Pictures.
