The fifth season of The Boys is in full swing, and there are only a few episodes left before we find out how Prime Video’s superhero story will end: but while the exact details of what’s to come have been kept mostly under wraps, it seems that a few spoilers have just leaked online…
Clearly, if you don’t want to spoil a crucial plot point from the final episodes of The Boys 5, we recommend you stop reading here, because we’re about to enter spoiler territory. If, on the other hand, spoilers don’t bother you—in fact, they’re your daily bread—then go ahead…
In recent hours, fans have noticed a very interesting detail in the new trailer for The Boys Season 5, released by Prime Video and available in the post at the bottom of the article: the new TV spot focuses mostly on positive press reviews and has been added to the series’ homepage on the streaming platform; the clip shows several previously unseen scenes, including a very brief moment where Sister Sage appears alongside Billy Butcher and the Boys.
Although we’re given no further details beyond the two characters standing side by side gazing at a bright sun, it seems pretty clear that Sister Sage might be on the verge of switching sides: the release of this trailer and this spoiler, in fact, comes after episode 5 of the fifth season of The Boys, now available to stream, Sister Sage revealed that her plan was to let Homelander die because she, too, wants the anti-Super virus released, triggering the “World War of the Supers.”
It therefore seems that Sister Sage is quite on board with Butcher’s plan to release the virus and, hopefully, kill Homelander: evidently, these two characters might team up—albeit reluctantly—to carry out their plan in the upcoming final episodes.
Meanwhile, fans have reacted to the spoiler scene on X, with one user writing: “WHAT THE HELL, THE BOYS AND SISTER SAGE ARE TEAMING UP!” Another replied: “Even though it’s a bit shocking, let’s be honest, we all saw this coming a mile away.” A third added: “It makes sense that she’d want to kill Homelander, but I only came to that conclusion in the last episode.”
The fifth season of The Boys airs weekly, exclusively on Prime Video.
