Mahoraga and Gerard (Mappa & Pierrot/Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 & Bleach)
Askin does have a small chance of winning against Mahoraga. However, there is another Quincy who might put up a fierce fight, Gerard Valkyrie. Their battle is even predicted to be a very destructive duel if it happens.
Between them, who will win? Here’s the discussion!
Mahoraga’s Power

You may have read about Mahoraga’s abilities in various articles discussing this shikigami. Essentially, Mahoraga can adapt to various phenomena, whether they be attacks or the existence of his enemies. His ability activates upon contact and continues to evolve to a new level unimaginable to humans. Once the process is complete, the enemy cannot harm Mahoraga in the same way. On the other hand, Mahoraga can mimic the attacks he adapts. This ability works on the enemy’s existence, as in the case of Dabura.
Gerard’s Known Strengths

Gerard is known as the owner of Schrift The Miracle.
This innate power, which he has had since the beginning, is extremely dangerous because it gives him the ability to manipulate the possibilities within an event. Thanks to this power, Gerard is capable of doing various unreasonable things, from enlarging his body every time he receives an injury, reversing the impact of his opponent’s attacks with his sword, to detecting enemies with traces of existence that are almost imperceptible. In terms of limitations, his abilities seem almost limitless. Every time he is defeated, Gerard will rise again in a form superior to his previous one. The Miracle also depends on how much hope he can absorb from his surroundings.
Gerard must be able to unleash a devastating attack early on before Mahoraga adapts.

With The Miracle, Gerard still has a chance to emerge victorious.
He only needs to unleash his destructive attacks to destroy Mahoraga completely. The problem is, he must do so before Mahoraga’s adaptation wheel completes its rotation. Indeed, The Miracle gives Gerard the opportunity to create “miracles,” such as suddenly discovering a new strategy or unleashing a devastating attack at a critical moment. However, there is still one flaw in the use of this power. If Mahoraga’s adaptation develops to the point where it can adjust to the concept of miracles itself, it is not impossible that Gerard’s main strength will eventually become ineffective.
On the other hand, Mahoraga has a chance of winning if Gerard’s core is exposed.

Although Gerard is able to continuously increase his strength like Mahoraga, he still has one crucial weak point that the shikigami can exploit.
That point is the core of his body, which is shaped like a Quincy cross. If Mahoraga manages to split Gerard’s body and expose that part, the opportunity to end him permanently will open up. According to Tite Kubo’s statement, Gerard can only be truly defeated if that core is destroyed, and the perpetrator must possess strength equivalent to Kenpachi Zaraki. However, given Mahoraga’s continuously evolving attack capabilities, achieving such high-level destructive power does not seem impossible for him.
Conclusion

From the various points above, the actual winner depends on the scenario that unfolds.
First, if Gerard takes the fight seriously from the start. With that approach, he should be able to unleash a massive attack in the opening phase of the duel. The key is that the attack must be truly explosive and destroy Mahoraga without leaving any room for adaptation. As long as The Miracle remains effective, the chances of victory remain in his hands. However, once Mahoraga manages to adapt to the concept of “miracle,” Quincy’s main strength risks losing its effectiveness. The problem is that Gerard is a muscle-brained type. He is overconfident and refuses to think complicatedly when fighting.
On the other hand, Mahoraga has a more technical but deadly path to victory. If he can split Gerard’s body and expose his cross-shaped core, then destroy it, the fight will be over. This weakness is absolute and cannot be changed, so it’s just a matter of waiting for the moment and conditions that allow the shikigami to expose it. However, the problem is that Mahoraga is a creature that relies on instinct, so it is his luck that may lead him to do so. It would be a different story if he were controlled by someone like Sukuna and directed to find Gerard’s weakness.
That is the discussion of who would win if Mahoraga and Gerard fought each other.
