In his last interview before his untimely death, Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane shared a very touching message with the public addressed to his two daughters with his ex-wife Rebecca Gayheart. Following messages of condolence from the cast of Grey’s Anatomy and many colleagues and fans around the world, the actor’s last interview was published. Dane’s words to his daughters are included in the Netflix special Famous Last Words, which was made to be released only after his death. In his conversation with Brad Falchuck, Eric Dane touched on several topics and addressed Billie Beatrice (15) and Georgia Geraldine (14).
The actor shared four specific messages addressed to both of them: “Live now, in the present,” he said in the first message. “The past contains regrets. The future remains unknown. So you have to live now. The present is all you have. Appreciate it, cherish every moment.”
He also encouraged them to “fall in love. Not necessarily with a person, although I recommend it. But fall in love with something. Find your passion, your joy, find what makes you want to get up in the morning.” The third message concerns friendship: “Find your people and let them find you, and then give yourself to them. The best ones will give you everything back, without judgment, without conditions, without questions. I am so grateful for my family and my closest friends.”
Finally, the fourth message: “Fight with every part of your being and with dignity. When you face challenges, whether health-related or otherwise, fight. Never give up. Fight until your last breath. You two are different people, but you are both strong and resilient. You inherited your resilience from me. That is my superpower.” Best known for his roles in Charmed, Grey’s Anatomy, and Euphoria, Eric Dane passed away at the age of 53.
