Leaks from Chapter 1182 of the manga are sparking all kinds of theories about this deity
Although it hasn’t been officially released yet, Chapter 1182 of ‘One Piece’ has already begun to leak online. Insiders shared the first spoilers from this chapter with the rest of the world, and to everyone’s surprise, they confirm that Oda will introduce a new character who was first mentioned many years ago. That character is Zaza, the Goddess of Rain.
The first mention of this deity occurred in a flashback during the Skypiea arc, where the inhabitants of the Sky Island mention the God of the Sun, the God of the Earth, the God of the Forest, and the Goddess of Rain. Over time, we learned that all these deities play a crucial role in the lore of ‘One Piece,’ since the God of the Sun is none other than Nika, the Warrior of Liberation who possessed the same powers as Luffy. And much later, we encountered the name of the God of Rain again in the sacred text Harley, where it is said that in the Second World, she basically destroyed everything.
Everything We Know About Zaza
Based on what is revealed in Chapter 1182, Zaza was the Goddess of Rain who lived during the same era as Nika, and according to Killingham, she is the person the World Government fears most. Leaks indicate that the creature summoned by this Holy Knight is a woman with long hair and four arms. Her body is transparent, and you can see that her insides are filled with water. Like Imu, she has a white ring on her back, wears a tunic, and her face is covered by a veil that reveals only her eyes. She also wears a conical hat decorated with all kinds of jewels.
As for her powers, it quickly becomes clear that she is incredibly strong. In the blink of an eye, she manages to flood an entire village of giants, leading to the belief that her ability is related to torrential rains or even water itself. As a result, fans believe that Zaza’s Devil Fruit could be the “Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Rain Goddess Zaza.”

Who currently possesses the Zaza Devil Fruit?
Just as Luffy has the Nika Fruit, it’s highly likely that someone has eaten the Zaza Fruit. Based on this and considering that it’s “what the World Government fears most,” most fans believe that Monkey D. Dragon is the new God of Rain. This hypothesis stems from the fact that the name Zaza appears to derive from the onomatopoeia used in the manga for the sound of rain (zaa). And we see Oda use it in Chapter 100 of ‘One Piece,’ where Dragon first appears in Loguetown. Furthermore, it would make sense for Dragon to possess a power that makes the World Government tremble, since Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army, the force that opposes the World Government.
Another possibility users are considering is that Vivi might be the new Goddess of Rain. Imu seems obsessed with her and wants to capture her at all costs, and the reason could be her very nature. If she truly possesses such power, it would be best to keep her under control in the Holy Land. Furthermore, Vivi was at the center of a very significant rain-related moment, where, right after she shouted herself hoarse calling for an end to the civil war in Arabasta, it began to pour.
And finally, there’s also the possibility that Nami could end up becoming Zaza’s heir. The Straw Hat navigator has extensive knowledge of meteorology, so the Rain Goddess Fruit would be perfect for her.
For now, that’s all we can tell you about Zaza. We’ll have to wait for Eiichiro Oda to share more information about the Rain Goddess, but there’s no doubt we’ll end up learning more about her sooner rather than later.
