Despite the spoiler ban, it seems that the fifth season of The Boys has revealed the dates of the most significant deaths set to occur in the upcoming episodes of the TV series starring Karl Urban and Anthony Starr…at least according to a new fan theory based on a calendar from the show.
Following the events of the third episode of The Boys 5, Prime Video released an image showing a The Boys-themed calendar with bloodstained dates: the calendar lists the release dates for each episode of the final season of the series based on Garth Ennis’s comic book, but of course fans wanted to dig deeper and may have uncovered an interesting detail.
Some dates, as you’ll immediately notice, are more bloodstained than others. This has given rise to a fan theory suggesting that the bloodier a date is, the more likely it is that a significant death will occur. This theory has already been ‘confirmed’ by A-Train’s death in the first episode, released on April 8, while in the second episode, released on April 15, all the main characters survived, with Homelander refraining from finishing off Ryan for good.
According to this theory, then, the dates for The Boys Season 5 that might hint at some high-profile deaths should be those of the fifth episode on April 29, the penultimate episode on May 13, and (inevitably) the finale on May 20.
Incidentally, corroborating this theory are some past statements by Karl Urban: the actor who plays Butcher has openly stated that the seventh episode will be the one in which many main characters die—so the evidence is piling up in favor of the calendar theory: “Watch out, there will be major twists, especially in episodes seven and eight,” the Lord of the Rings star told 7Bravo Australia. “There are main characters who won’t even make it to the end credits of the seventh episode, let alone before the eighth even begins. Brace yourselves, Boys… Get ready.”
The only point of curiosity remains the rather vague release date of the next episode, which has given rise to a second theory: Marie Moreau will bring someone back to life in that episode…
