Park Min Young plays the lead role of Han Seol Ah, a woman suspected of insurance fraud. To achieve the desired physique, she underwent an extreme diet to lose weight. “I felt I couldn’t afford to gain weight. So during filming, I fasted while drinking three liters of water every day,” recalled Park Min Young, as quoted by Sports Seoul on Monday (23/2/2026).

Regarding her character, the actress believes Han Seol Ah should not appear to have gained weight. Additionally, Park Min Young explained that Han Seol Ah is a very lonely character who suffers from panic disorders. “The character Han Seol Ah that I portray in this story doesn’t eat. Because many tragic events occur around her, she only drinks water and alcohol, even at home,” the actress explained.
Park Min Young has now returned to her original self
The character she plays is quite dark in many ways. However, Park Min Young insists that she is now back to her old self.
“Now I’m back to my old self. I deliberately allowed myself to be in the dark side because it suited the character. I really changed to become darker.” She also ensured that the filming process continued in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Park Min Young added, “The atmosphere on set is really fun. Even though it’s warm and full of jokes, once filming starts, everyone can immediately focus and switch gears in three seconds.” Meanwhile, the drama Siren’s Kiss is scheduled to premiere on March 2. The drama is adapted from the 1999 Japanese series Koori no Sekai.
