Last November, there was talk of a staggering fee for the main cast of Frozen 3 and Frozen 4, new Disney Classics in the works for Walt Disney Animation Studios, due out in 2027. Finally, actress Kristen Bell has broken her silence to comment on the matter. The star, who recently officially joined the cast of Sonic 4 in the role of Amy Rose, responded to rumors about her alleged record-breaking salary for the upcoming sequels to the Disney saga, denying that she will receive $60 million as previously reported in budget reports.
“I think there has been a lot of misinformation about the Frozen contract,” Kristen Bell, who voices Princess Anna, told Entertainment Tonight. “No, no, no, no, no, it’s someone making up a lot of stuff. That said, am I happy to have that job? Is it well paid because it’s a successful franchise? Yes. And I’m very grateful for that, and I’ll continue to do it for the rest of my life if they want to keep me in that role.” In November 2025, rumors had anticipated that Kristen Bell and her colleagues Idina Menzel, who plays Anna’s older sister Elsa, and Josh Gad, who plays the snowman Olaf, would receive $60 million each to return in Frozen 3 and 4, doubling their salaries of $15 million for Frozen 2 to $30 million per installment. However, according to Kristen Bell, the figure will not be that high.
“Didn’t it seem absurd when you read it?” she added. “When I read it, I thought, ‘ Wow, wow, what!‘” A $30 million fee per film would ‘probably’ break the record for the highest amount paid to an actor in the history of animation: we know that Dwayne Johnson received around $20 million for Moana 2, while Tom Hanks’ salary for Toy Story 4 was estimated at between $25 million and $40 million. 2013’s Frozen and its 2019 sequel Frozen 2 grossed nearly $3 billion at the box office, and new chapters were first announced in 2023: plot details for the two sequels remain top secret, but the two productions are expected to be made back-to-back. We know that Frozen 3 will hit theaters on November 24, 2027, so presumably Frozen 4 could arrive in 2028.
