Flynn Rider is coming! After the confirmation of the casting of the protagonists of the live-action adaptation of ‘Tangled’, Milo Manheim revealed that he has already started physical preparation to play Rapunzel’s iconic partner. In an interview with the program On The Red Carpet, the artist explained that he has been adopting a training routine focused on the character. Known for his work in “Zombies” and the series “Ghosts at School,” the actor said he has been waking up early every day to get used to the filming routine, also sharing that part of the training involves physical activities related to the character’s action style.
“It’s happening, okay? I’m waking up every day at 5 a.m. — of my own free will, by the way. I chose this to be ready for the morning calls. I just did parkour today. I rode a horse today… Not today, yesterday. But I’m trying to get into that space, and every time I’m doing things, it’s to embody Flynn Rider. We’re not just running for the sake of running, we’re running from someone. Or running for the crown. Or for Rapunzel. We’re already there.”
Previously, Manheim thanked the public for their support after they discovered his casting as José Bezerra, as Flynn Rider is known in Brazil. During a conversation with ScreenRant, he reported being “nervous about many things, I won’t lie. I have enormous respect for Flynn and for this film. It’s one of my favorites,” in addition to confessing his fear of learning to ride a horse for the scenes with Maximus.
About the live-action version of “Tangled”
As the public knows, the classic Disney animation follows Princess Rapunzel, who is kidnapped as a baby by the witch “Mother” Gothel and kept isolated in a tower. Years later, fugitive Flynn Rider finds the place and ends up getting involved in the journey of the young woman, who wants to see the world outside of captivity. The live-action adaptation of “Tangled” will feature Teagan Croft in the role of Rapunzel, while Michael Gracey, known for “The Greatest Showman,” will direct, and the screenplay will be written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who worked on “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
It is worth noting that, so far, the live-action film does not have a set release date.
