Netflix‘s live-action ONE PIECE Season 2 will finally begin streaming on March 10, 2026. As posters and footage are released one after another, fans are buzzing about the absence of a certain popular character. That character is the Super Duck, Karoo. She is the loyal partner who always accompanies Nefertari Vivi, known as “Miss Wednesday,” and would risk her life for her. She also became an important friend to the Straw Hat Crew, capturing fans’ hearts with her earnestness and adorable appearance.
Karoo first appeared in the “Whiskey Peak” arc of the original manga’s Volume 13, a story depicted in Season 2 of the anime series. However, there has been no mention of his appearance in the live-action adaptation so far, and he is nowhere to be seen in the trailers. Consequently, fans are paying close attention to how Karoo will be handled.
Three possibilities come to mind. The first is that her appearance was omitted due to production costs. While Season 2 recreated Tony Tony Chopper and the Unluckies using advanced CG technology, allocating equivalent resources to all Zoan-type characters is likely unrealistic. Given how important she is to Vivi, her absence would likely lead to disappointment among fans. The second possibility is that his appearance is being intentionally kept under wraps. An unannounced appearance would create a major buzz as a Season 2 “surprise.”
The third possibility is that his appearance has been postponed. Considering he plays a significant role in the Alabasta arc in the original manga, it’s conceivable he might appear in Season 3. Will Karoo appear? All eyes are on his fate. Incidentally, Season 1 omitted characters like the dogs Shushu, Jango, Yosaku and Johnny, and Hachi. While the live-action adaptation involves such character omissions and plot changes, its approach respecting the spirit of the source material has been praised and garnered support from original fans.
Netflix’s “ONE PIECE” Season 2 will premiere exclusively worldwide on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
